Porcellio scaber isopods makes a great clean up crew member for your bioactive vivarium, as well as pets! Native to British Columbia Canada, these isopods do well in cool and damp enclosures but can tolerate some degrees of aridness. These isopods for sale are very prolific and have large broods every 60 days or so once established! Adult Porcellio scaber isopods can reach 27mm in length and are a great beginner species.
Armadillidium vulgare will characteristically curl up when it feels threatened, and is a rather rarer species of isopods in B.C
Temperature: 18-27 celsius
Humidity: 60-70% (it's a good idea to provide a "hydration station" on one side of the enclosure by adding in a patch of sphagnum moss and misting it once in a while)
Feeding: leaf litter, fish flakes, dog pellets, carrots, etc
Providing a source of calcium in cuttlebones or crushed eggshells can be beneficial
