Myrmica Crassirugis is one of the liveliest and most colourful droptail ant species found in Canada, beaten only by Myrmica Rubra and Myrmica Incompleta. Also known as The Droptail Ant, they are found in regions of south eastern Canada. The colours are most visible under the sun or bright light, the workers are extremely eye-catching too.
Myrmica Crassirugis is known to be one of the largest species of Myrmica found in Canada, the queens exhibit a nice dark colouration with a little splash of red on her thorax, workers exhibit the same colouration.

Queens are normally around 6-8mm while workers range from 4-7mm
The colonies of droptail ants can grow very large, they are very active and will live in almost anything they can find and develop until they are a force and can start reproducing more alates!
