These queens flew in Spring 2020. They are all strong queens and have started laying eggs!
Camponotus Modoc is a darkly coloured species from the Pacific Northwest region, the queens and workers are a mostly black coloration with shiny red legs and golden gasters, most visible under the sun or bright light, the workers are extremely eye-catching.
Queens are normally around 13-16mm while workers from 7-13mm
The colonies of Camponotus Modoc can grow very large , they are very active and will live in their quiet logs and develop until they are a force and can start reproducing more alates!
Overall, Camponotus Modoc is a very satisfying ant to raise from a single queen into a large colony, the brood develops at a steady pace so it wouldn't be long until you would have a blooming young colony of Camponotus Modoc!
